What do I need if travelling to the UK from outside of the UK for this event?

From 2025 a number of our attendees and Think Tank speakers from the US, Europe and other countries will need to complete the new “ETA” which stands for a “Electronic Travel Authorisation”. Once you have applied for a ETA the process can take up to 3 days in order to confirm that you are safe to travel to the UK for the JV Think Tank Summit 2024.

The closest airport is London City Airport (LCY), approximately 25 minutes away by car or taxi. However, most international travellers are likely to fly into Heathrow Airport (LHR) or Gatwick Airport (LGW), which offer a wider range of international flights and connections.

We recommend landing at Heathrow or Gatwick, as they are well-connected to central London via train:

  • From Heathrow Airport, you can take the Heathrow Express train to Paddington Station in just 15 minutes or use the Piccadilly Line on the London Underground for direct access to central London.
  • From Gatwick Airport, the Gatwick Express train takes you to Victoria Station in about 30 minutes, with other train services also available.

Both airports have excellent transport links, including taxis, ride-sharing services, and additional rail and underground options, making them convenient choices for international travellers.
